What We Do
Oiled Wildlife Response
Seabirds are vulnerable to oil pollution, particularly African Penguins as they cannot fly.
Rescue and Rehabilitation
Seabirds are mostly confined to the Namibian island colonies during breeding seasons.
Improve Breeding Habitat
The habitat on the islands, particularly for the African Penguin has been severely degraded by centuries.
Improve food availability
The reason for the declining sea-bird population is mostly due to a lack of good quality food, especially sardine.
The Marine Environment
The Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem (BCLME) in the southeast Atlantic Ocean is one of the world's four major eastern boundary currents, which undergo intense upwelling of cool, nutrient-rich waters that support high phytoplankton biomasses and abundant forage fish resources.
